Event Announcement: Hunters Bar-B-Q (Bandera, TX)

What: THE 48th ANNUAL HUNTERS BAR-B-Q & OUTDOOR EXPOSITION
When: Friday, November 5, 2010, 3:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Where: Mansfield Park ~ Bandera, Texas
More information: Highlights of the Hunters Bar-B-Q and Outdoor Exposition are displays showcasing the latest in hunting equipment, guns, knives, recreational vehicles, deer blinds, feeders and outdoor supplies, as well as local exhibitors' wares and gift ideas. Country music fills the Show Barn throughout the event. In the evening, plates of succulent barbecue brisket with all the trimmings are served. Home-cooked brisket meal with all the trimmings, tea and dessert. Age 12 and older: $10. Ages 3 - 11: $8. Children under 3: FREE. Serving begins at 5:30 p.m. After the meal, the famous live auction will feature something for everybody. Families can enjoy the BB gun shooting gallery and interactive hunting exhibits. Time for this weekend's giveaway from Texas pitmaster John Mueller. Mixing it up this time with our first non-football contest. Rangers are down 0-2 to the Giants in the World Series but are heading back to Arlington for Game 3 (tomorrow night). Closest final-score prediction gets his/her choice of 4 pounds of brisket, sausage, pork ribs, and/or beef ribs. Tiebreaker question: Which team scores first? Event Announcement: The Q Card Launch Party for Old School BBQ & Grill

What: The Q Card Launch Party for Old School BBQ & Grill

Where: WB Saloon & Cycles, 621 Chandler Street, Blanco, TX
Details: The Q Card and WB Saloon & Cycles are teaming up with Old School BBQ & Grill to throw the baddest BBQ bash Blanco has ever seen. Combining The Q Card's official launch party for Old School and WB Saloon's monthy First Saturday Party, this will be a whole day of BBQ, drinks, live music, and good times. Also, the party will serve as a meet-and-greet for the social-network site "Biker or Not." Come and go as you please. The Q Card will be there selling cards for a few hours, starting at 10 AM (We'll be running a special on cards, so it's a great time to buy.). Old School will start serving its smokey school-bus BBQ around 1 PM. The music goes til midnite. Plan to be there, people!!! RSVP via Facebook (but RSVP not required).

RJ's Bar-B-Que (Austin, TX) is closed.

Drove by The Original Richard Jones Bar-B-Que on South Congress (Austin) last night and noticed last night that it's closed. An Indian restaurant is taking its place. I wish all of the RJ's family the best.
