QOTD: What's the best BBQ in Dallas?

As I head back to Austin from Dallas today, I'm curious to know what your pick is for the best BBQ joint in Dallas. Not the massive DFW but rather Dallas proper. Who's your favorite?

I hung out this weekend with my buddy Daniel "BBQ Snob" Vaughn - yesterday was his birthday, BTW. If you need some help coming up with your pick for today's question, Daniel wrote the book on the topic: http://bit.ly/7wcgkW

I'm going to wait til the Lockhart Smokehouse opens in Oak Cliff to decide. :)

City of Dallas? Ouch. Talk about slim pickings... I'd head to Fort Worth side for Off the Bone, if it were me. Within the city, the Snob is right (again) - Pecan Lodge.

@BBQSnob tells @ManUpTexasBBQ it's @PecanLodge. Can't disagree.

Really? Cattleack Barbeque makes the best BBQ you will ever eat hands down. End of story

My family and I are coming into town for a trip, we have saturday afternoon free and would like to get some real Texas BBQ, Our Hotel is in Downtown Dallas and we are flying into DFW Airport. Where should we go to get the most authentic and best BBQ in the area? We are willing to drive up to 25 30 mins away in either direction. PLEASE HELP

Joe,

Thanks for writing. Consult Daniel "BBQ Snob" Vaughn, who commented above.

Good luck!
