2011: Year in Review

Ate at 92 Texas BBQ joints - probably more, because surely not everyone in our group let me know each time they went somewhere. 92, at least.


Attended the Super Bowl XLV media party, for which we selected and coordinated the BBQ joints that catered it

Threw the 2nd annual Gettin' Sauced! at Independence Brewing Co. in Austin. The event grew from 45 sauces from 1 state (Texas) to 186 sauces from 26 states & 2 foreign countries. The event grew from 0 sponsors to 14 sponsors.

Launched a Man Up Texas BBQ YouTube channel

Continued to add affiliates to The Q Card

Had The Q Card included in the VIP package for the 2nd annual Texas Monthly BBQ Festival

Got media passes for the American Royal BBQ Competition in Kansas City. While there, we judged the finals of Gnarly Head Wine's Rippin' Ribs Competition.


Judged the Fire Fighter Q Off at the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio

Attended the 14th Annual State Championship BBQ & Goat Cook-Off in Goldthwaite, TX


Wrote a Texas BBQ article for Taste of the South magazine
