Specht's Store closes tomorrow.

I hate to see Texas BBQ joints shutter. The latest I know of is Specht's Store Restaurant & Saloon (Bulverde, TX), which will close its doors tomorrow at 9PM. Here are all of my pictures from Specht's. Best wishes to them.

Second visit to (first meal at) Spechts Store

Specht's Store Restaurant & Saloon (Bulverde, TX) was closed the first time I stopped by, so I made sure it was open the second. We had dinner on the back patio, where an Irish band entertained us. You can dine inside, too, but the outside area, with room to move, is preferable when you have a toddler. We had brisket, brined chicken, pork ribs, sausage, potato salad, slaw, & beans. "In The Pit with Aron Baynes"

A few weeks ago, Specht's Store BBQ tweeted a picture of San Antonio Spurs center Aron Baynes standing in front of their building. Didn't think anything more of it than that Aron stopped by for a meal. Well, turns out The Big Banger is quite the Texas BBQ aficionado. First visit to Specht's Store (San Antonio, TX)

This past Sunday, I made my way to Specht's Store (about 9 miles north of Loop 1604 off Blanco Road in San Antonio). I had a feeling that it might be closed, but I went anyway. Guess I could have, you know, checked online beforehand, but I didn't. It was a beautiful day, and I wasn't far away, so it would be worth the drive regardless. Well, it was indeed closed. But I snapped a few pictures of the outside (front & side). I look forward to going back when I am certain it is open.
