Cowboy Joe's BBQ sauces added to January 25 tour!

On January 25, we're heading to Lexington, Taylor, & Georgetown for our 1st public Texas Q Tours trip of 2014. The van sold out, so we are going to open up 1 more. The trip is all-inclusive, and now we are adding even more value: Each person on the trip will take home 2 bottles (1 original, 1 spicy) of Cowboy Joe's Pit & Grilling Sauce!

Both of these BBQ sauces placed in the People's Choice Contest Top 10 at this year's Gettin' Sauced! At the 2012 Gettin' Sauced!, Cowboy Joe's won the Vinegar (Mild) category of the Bottled Contest AND won the Overall Category of the Bottled Contest! Cowboy Joe's is based right here in Austin, & they will be on the trip, so you will have the opportunity to meet them & chat. Join us on the trip!

Speaking of Cowboy Joe's, they are the first vendor in the 2014 lineup of All-Star Sauces! They'll be shipping 2 bottles of sauce (original, spicy) to each All-Star Sauces customer. The deadline to receive the January shipment has passed, but you can still nab Cowboy Joe's February shipment by ordering by January 15!

Year 2 of All-Star Sauces!!!

The new year is almost here, and we have an entirely new lineup of BBQ sauces for our 2nd year of All-Star Sauces! Just as it was this year, next year's program will consist of 6 BBQ-sauce vendors, each of which will ship 2 sauces per program customer. If you don't order in time to receive the first order, you're not out of luck, b/c each vendor will ship 2 separate shipments. For example, TODAY is the deadline to order the January 2014 shipment. If you don't order by today but still want the sauces from the January vendor, you can order by January 15 and receive that same vendor's February shipment. March/April is the 2nd vendor. May/June is the 3rd vendor. July/August is the 4th vendor. September/October is the 5th vendor. November/December is the 6th & final vendor.

There are 3 order options: single shipment (1 shipment: 2 bottles), half year (3 shipments: 6 bottles), or full year (6 shipments: 12 bottles). If you want any single shipment, just order by the 15th day of the month before the particular shipment. For example, if you want sauces from the May/June vendor, then either order by April 15 or May 15. If you order the half year or the full year, then your shipments will come every other month. For example, if you order the half-year membership by today, you will receive the January, March, & May shipments. If you miss today's deadline and still want the January/February vendor's sauces, then your half-year membership will ship sauces to you in February, April, & June. Got it? Two days ago was the final All-Star Sauces order deadline for 2013. So, we are now taking orders for our first shipment of 2014!!! Just as it has been this year, next year's program will involve 6 sauce vendors. Each has a 2-month order period. Same shipment for each, so you have a couple of chances to snag their sauces. Each shipment will include 2 bottles of sauce.

First up in the new year will be Austin's very own Cowboy Joe's. Last year's overall Bottled Contest winner & People's Choice Contest Top 10 at Gettin' Sauced! & the holder of 2 of the People's Choice Contest Top 10 spots at this year's Gettin' Sauced!, Cowboy Joe's shipments will be comprised of 1 bottle each of their Original Pit & Grilling Sauce and their Spicy Pit & Grilling Sauce. To receive the January shipment, you must order by December 15. If you miss the cutoff, don't worry, b/c you can receive Cowboy Joe's February shipment by ordering by January 15!

All-Star Sauces are en route!!!

As some of you know, we recently launched a mail-order club for award-/contest-winning BBQ sauces. All-Star Sauces ships two bottles of sauce every other month, with each shipment coming from a different vendor. Well, yesterday, our very first shipment (Jan/Feb 2013) went out from Grumpy's BBQ Sauce (Thornton, CO). Too late to snag the Grumpy's shipment, but order anytime, and you will receive the next available shipment. To receive the Mar/Apr 2013 shipment, order by 5PM Central on February 15, 2013. This is a brand-new venture, and we are still tweaking and refining, but we think it's a pretty cool program and would be honored to have your business. All-Star Sauces: Nov/Dec 2013

The 6th & final vendor in All-Star Sauces's 2013 lineup is Desert Smoke BBQ (Scottsdale, AZ)! We've had the pleasure of meeting Tony Morales, the man behind Desert Smoke, and he's got an awesome thing going out in sunny Arizona. At last year's Gettin' Sauced!, his Sweet & Spicy sauce took top honors in the vinegar-spicy category of the bottled contest, and it won 3rd overall in the bottled contest. That same sauce won the vinegar-spicy category again at last month's Gettin' Sauce! And each All-Star Sauces shipment of his will contain a bottle of it. The 2nd bottle in each shipment will be chosen by Tony from among his other sauces. Desert Smoke's shipment goes out in early November 2013. To receive it, order by 5PM Central on October 15, 2013.

All-Star Sauces: Sep/Oct 2013

The 5th vendor in our 2013 All-Star Sauces lineup is Texas' very own Black's Barbecue (Lockhart, TX)! Each Sep/Oct 2013 shipment will contain a bottle of Norma Jean's Habanero BBQ Sauce & Norma Jean's Smokey BBQ Sauce. At last year's Gettin' Sauced!, the Habanero Sauce took first place in the tomato-spicy category of the fresh division, and the Smokey Sauce won the tomato-mild category of the fresh division. Then, Habanero took first overall in the fresh division, while Smokey took second overall! Order by 5PM Central on August 20, & you'll get a bottle of both! The Black's shipment goes out in early September 2013.

The 4th vendor in our 2013 All-Star Sauces lineup is Meat Mitch (Kansas City, MO)! Meat Mitch pulled off quite the coup at last year's Gettin' Sauced!, nabbing both first & second in the People's Choice Contest. Those 2 sauces (WHOMP! and NAKED!) will be included in each All-Star Sauces shipment in July 2013. To receive the Meat Mitch shipment, order by 5PM Central on June 15, 2013.

All-Star Sauces: May/Jun 2013

Third up in our inaugural year of All-Star Sauces is Outta the Park BBQ Sauce (Cary, NC). Brought to us by a native of Massachusetts who now calls North Carolina home, Outta the Park uses only all-natural ingredients: no artificial colors/flavors/preservatives, no MSG, no high-fructose corn syrup, etc. They've won at the Scovie Awards 4 years in a row!

Each shipment will contain a bottle of their original sauce & a bottle of their hot & spicy. Shipments head out in early May. To receive the Outta the Park shipment, order by 5PM Central on April 20, 2013.

All-Star Sauces: Mar/Apr 2013

Monday, I highlighted the Jan/Feb 2013 vendor for All-Star Sauces. Today, the Mar/Apr 2013 vendor: Russ & Frank's BBQ Sauce (West Des Moines, IA)! Racking up awards since 2003, Russ & Frank's offers 4 BBQ sauces. In each March shipment of All-Star Sauces will be a bottle of Russ & Frank's Sassy sauce (pictured above, in the middle), & the 2nd bottle will be the vendor's choice from among the remaining 3 bottles. To receive the Russ & Frank's shipment in March, you must order by 5PM Central on February 15!

All-Star Sauces: Jan/Feb 2013

On October 27, we (meaning a joint-venture partner & Man Up Texas BBQ) launched All-Star Sauces, a mail-order club for award-/contest-winning BBQ sauces. The program is comprised of 6 vendors each calendar year. Each vendor ships 2 bottles of sauce, at least 1 of which has taken has won an official contest or award. That's 12 bottles per year. Customers can purchase a single shipment (2 bottles), a semi-annual subscription (3 shipments: 6 bottles), or an annual subscription (6 shipments: 12 bottles). Bottles ship in early January, March, May, July, September, & November.

Today, I highlight the 1st vendor for 2013: Grumpy's BBQ Sauce (Thornton, CO). Their list of awards/honors is loooooooooooooong. At last year's 2nd Annual Gettin' Sauced!, Grumpy's Goodnight Loving & Black Label BBQ Sauces won the tomato (mild) & tomato (spicy) categories, respectively. These two categories had the most sauces by far. Quite the coup. These 2 sauces will be included in all of the Grumpy's shipments, which ship out to customers in early January. If you wish to receive the Grumpy's shipment, you must order by 5PM Central on December 15!

All-Star Sauces!!!

Saturday was the launch of All-Star Sauces, a mail-order club for award-/contest-winning BBQ sauces. Man Up Texas BBQ, LLC, is half of the joint venture behind the program, which is comprised of 6 vendors per year (For 2013, each vendor is from a different state!). Each vendor has at least 1 BBQ sauce that has taken first place in an official contest or that has won a national award. Take a look at the vendors for 2013, our inaugural year.

The program is simple: 2 sauces are shipped to your door every other month (At least 1 of these sauces is a contest/award winner.). That's 6 shipments per year (12 bottles total). We offer 3 subscription plans (each of which includes shipping & handling): Customers can purchase 1 shipment (2 bottles), 3 shipments (6 bottles), or all 6 shipments (12 bottles). Shipments go out in early Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sept, & Nov. If you wish to receive the next shipment, order by 5 PM Central on the 15th day of the month before each shipment month.
