First visit to Kerrville

A few Saturdays ago, before spending the afternoon in Fredericksburg, Rebekah, Brad, and I made our first trip to Kerrville and had lunch at Buzzie's Bar-B-Q. The meats were smoky (dark chicken and ham good, ribs chewy, turkey dry), the service was great, and Buzzie (pictured below) was awesome! Can't wait to go back and hang out with that guy again. It's really quiet in the dining area, with no music playing, but maybe we just caught it on a sleepy Saturday. They have a great room in the back for private parties, and they have a really cool (and huge) smoker. Here's the first of several rounds of pics:

Only 3 of us made the trip to Kerrville, for lunch at Buzzie's, but we had a great time. Spent a good bit of time after lunch around the pit with Buzzie (Wow, what a nice guy.) and left with some dry rub that I'm sure we'll make good use of. Stopped in Fredericksburg, on the way back, for drinks at Fredericksburg Brewing Company and The Auslander, and dropped off applications for The Q Card at 3 BBQ joints, between Kerrville and Austin. Buzzie's submitted us their application today, so add them to the list of places where you will be able to save with the card. Review and pics of our Buzzie's visit to come. Looking forward to going back soon, when everyone else isn't out of town. Kerrville + Fredericksburg = awesome day trip from Austin.
