Throw a huge Texas BBQ sauce competition: Check.

Well, Gettin' Sauced! (hopefully, the 1st annual Gettin' Sauced!) is in the books. Great turnout, great lineup of sauces, great music. BIG thanks to everyone who came out, our fantastic panel of judges, Franklin Barbecue (for hosting), Don Strange (for trays, sample cups, and two terrific desserts), Saint Arnold Brewery (for the cold beer and root beer), all the restaurants & vendors who entered, the restaurants & vendors who handed out meat samples, Bovine Press for doing such a great job on the scorecard and poster printing, the musicians, and all the Man-Up volunteers who worked their tails off making the event go smoothly. And a special thanks to the rain, for not showing up.

I'm exhausted, but 8 AM office hours and 9 and 10 AM classes will keep me from sleeping in. When I catch my breath a bit, I'll post the list of the 45 sauces (so you can see which ones you liked), post the results of the judges' panel (which we announced at the end of the event), and post the results of the partygoers' votes (which I'll tally ASAP). Plenty of t-shirts, posters, and koozies left, so email us if you wanna order some. Also, loads of pics on the way, as soon as I get everyone's pics.

The wheels are already turning for future events, so stay tuned. But, for now, thanks again to everyone for making our first event such a success. We had a blast!
