Best BBQ in San Angelo?

Continuing with my list of Texas cities, by decreasing order of population, we've arrived at San Angelo. What's the best BBQ joint in town?

RJ Bar-B-Que is a little hole in the wall with some really good brisket and ribs.

I'm late to the game here, but maybe you'll see this. There isn't much truly GREAT que down here but I can personally vouch for a few options:

1) RJ's is very good. Was once on the Texas Monthly list. Get there early and be prepared to ask for your sauce on the side.
2) Two good options for pork spare ribs: Bubba's Smokehouse and Shenanigan's Sports Bar. Pass on the rest of the bbq options at either of those places, but DO get the Smoked Mac & Cheese at the latter.
3) The most popular bbq place in SJT is probably Packsaddle BBQ out on your way to Lake Nasworthy. They are using gas smokers and for the most part the bbq is just decent BUT if you play the menu right you can get a damn good meal. Their onion rings are great, so start with that. From there, order the 'deluxe grilled cheese', which is just a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with smoked brisket. I know this sounds distressingly like the nightmare that Starbucks is selling right now, but trust me when I tell you that it is very good. Finish up your meal with the cobbler and ice cream -- I will genuinely stand by their cobbler and ice cream as being the best in the state.

San Angelo has some quality food options, but sadly not a lot of truly stellar bbq options. If you're ever in the neighborhood, I'd be happy to show you around.
