QOTD: What's the farthest you would drive for BBQ?

Perhaps the most telling indicator of how good a BBQ joint is is how far people would drive to get to it? So, what's your cut-off point? 1 hour? 2 hours? A day's drive? How far would you go to get your hands on outstanding Texas BBQ?

Haven't done it yet, but next time the wife goes out of town with the youngster I plan on driving down to Lockhart or Luling from Fort Worth. I guess that means my limit is around 4 hours -- I have already done FW - Taylor, FW - Llano (pre Coopers FW) and FW - Lexington.

Just for BBQ, I would drive anywhere that I could get to in one days drive if I could also arrange cheap or free lodging that night. Farthest I have driven so far is 5 hours to Silsbee from Austin, but I stayed in Houston that night.
Twice however I have done trips longer and more miles in one day. One was a 6 BBQ stop form Austin to Houston that took 5 1/2 hours (includes eating time). Also did a 8 BBQ stop that was 10 hours (7:00AM to 5:00PM) and somewhere around 500 miles totals.

Any willing to do a 5 1/2 hour 340 mile trip to Harlingen for 5 BBQ stops? Let me know it is my next adventure (hopefully August).

Just got a response via Twitter: 5 hours round trip. So, add that to the mix.

A couple of buddies and I will be making the trip from Fort Worth to Taylor for some bbq goodness next Thursday, but the longest trip was the 6 1/2-hour jaunt to see what all the fuss was about Kansas City barbecue. Arthur Bryant's was good but can't hold a candle to Texas barbecue.
