Yesterday's lunch at Jim 'N Nick's (Jasper, AL)

Had lunch yesterday with my brother at Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q in my hometown of Jasper, AL. He had the day's special, pork & grits, and I had a pulled-pork sandwich on a wheat bun, with cabbage. I didn't have my camera, so these Blackberry pics will have to do.

We enjoyed Jim 'N Nicks when we lived in Birmingham. I loved the cheese rolls they had until they changed the recipe a couple years ago. That was before they gave them away for free. Man, they were awesome, I used to eat them for breakfast! :)

Man Up, thanks for shots. Pork and Grits is a new thing for us. A more Alabama take on the coastal Carolina Shrimp N Grits.

Ms. Davis, I am glad you were a fan of our cheese biscuits and hope you will be again. I promise we did not change the recipe. Lord have mercy, that would start a revolution around here. We did start giving them away free in 2009 in an effort to do our part to provide a little more joy to folks even as the economy fell apart. As with everything we do, we make them from scratch everyday, no short-cuts. Most likely, we just didn't make them correctly on your last visit. I would love the chance to make that up to you. We will soon be sharing the recipe and selling the mix so people can make them at home. Here's my e-mail: samb@jimnnicks.com please send me your mailing address and I will mail you some as soon as they are ready for distribution.
