Man Up Texas BBQ is teaming up with Google Places, the new personalized local recommendation engine powered by the reviews of users and their friends! Google wants to give you the opportunity to win the ultimate Austin carnivore experience, just for doing what you already do: sharing your opinions on the best BBQ in Texas. Here’s how it works:
1. Go to Google.com/Places and select “Start Rating” (You’ll need to create a Google account if you haven’t already.)
2. Send your Places profile link to barbecueadventure@google.com by 5pm on Sunday, May 15.
3. Rate and review as many Texas BBQ joints as you like. Each BBQ joint review you write will be judged as a new entry.
4. We’ll go through all reviews you write during the contest period and judge them (See rules here for more information.), and the entrants with the 25 highest scores will be invited to attend a massive BBQ blowout with Google!
5. The winners will be notified on May 17, and on Saturday, May 21, the winners will jump on the BBQ bus for our adventure. Who’s hungry?!
Prize: 25 lucky entrants will win a spot on the BBQ bus! The bus will feature adult beverages and other fun surprises, and it will depart from downtown Austin to take entrants to three of the highest-rated BBQ spots on Google Places. At each spot, Google will provide a sample plate of that location’s best grub; and you leave stuffed and satisfied, with a few new friends and favorite BBQ places to rave about. Err, don't mean to be a nitpicker, but shouldn't they have the bus ride on the 20th? The world is ending on the 21st.

Well that rules me out. I'll be competing in the Sams National BBQ Series on May 21 in Conroe. Don't forget its coming to Austin May 14th!
If the world really ends, at least I will be full of brisket!
