QOTD: What are the most underrated Texas BBQ joints?

On Monday, I asked about overrated Texas BBQ joints. Today, the natural complement to that question: What are the most underrated BBQ joints in Texas? What joints don't get enough praise? Who's not getting their due?

City Meat Market in Giddings may get praise, but not near enough. Top 5 place in Texas.

May also throw some love out to Prause Market in La Grange.

I don't hear near enough about Baby Back Shak in Dallas (going there for lunch today). Can't beat their ribs, boudain, green beans and Shak beans.

Mike's real pit BBQ in Grand Prairie has some pretty awesome ribs too.

Not that much of a of the brisket from either of those places tho.

Augies BBQ in San Antonio has great flavor, sauce and sides. And they never get recognized. Their pulled pork is amazing as is their brisket. And the creamed corn is divine. One of my favorite local BBQ joints.

Artz Rib House in Austin. The country style pork ribs are the work of the gods. Live music all the time too.

Every catered function in Seguin, TX always had Davila's BBQ at it or you weren't a true Seguinite. Its what I call nostalgia-Q.

Also, give me any small town Volunteer Fire Department $5 fundraising BBQ plate any day.

Twitter reply: "I vote Red Barn BBQ in Colleyville-- very underrated. (NOT Big Barn BBQ which is nearby)"

Coker's in Arlington - generally average-to-below average in reviews, but always thought they really good smoky brisket. Then again, living in Arlington, tends to skew BBQ joints that actually have a little flavor a little higher.

Gatlin's BBQ on 19th street in Houston's Heights. Really good brisket & pork ribs form this great little family joint.
