Is BBQ the "official" food of Texas?
When people think of food in Texas, do they think first of BBQ or is it something else? Chicken-fried steak? Maybe Tex-Mex? To help the case for BBQ, there aren't scores of restaurants outside of Texas that are dedicated to Texas (fill in the blank with a cuisine other than BBQ). If there were an official food of The Lone Star State, what would it be? (UPDATE: There is an official food of Texas: chili.) When most non-Texans think of Texas food, what comes to mind most often?
