BBQ. Simpler pretty much always better; I'm one who thinks simple terms can express complex ideas.
I go with AP Style on this one: barbecue. Simple, not too offensive, yet not an abbreviation.
Just leave the hyphens out of it!
As long as it is good who cares!
For the purposes of the blog/logo/etc., I went with BBQ. But, as for the way I think the word should be spelled, gotta go with Addie on this one.
Twitter reply: "On Twitter it's always BBQ to save characters!"
Twiter reply: "we do BBQieux in NOLA"
"Barbecue" is the ONLY correct spelling.
Twitter reply: "Can't spell, eating."
Twitter reply: "BBQ."
Twitter reply: "It shouldn't be spelled... it should be eaten."
Twitter reply: "The spelling should be as divers as the individuals personality. No one does BBQ the same, so why should the spelling be?"
Twitter reply: "BBQ!"
Twitter reply: "We favor BBQ or BarBQ :)"
