Saturday, October 10, 2009: Smitty's Market (Lockhart, Texas)
Before watching the Longhorns send the Buffaloes back to Boulder with a 38-14 loss, Brad led some DFW relatives to Smitty’s Market in Lockhart – mainly because his cousin Ted wanted to try their prime rib. Smitty’s impressed the out-of-towners, and the ribs stole the spotlight from the prime rib and overshadowed the fact that it was Brad's birthday.
Ted’s writes that the pork ribs were the “best I’ve ever had,” the prime rib got “extra points for the uniqueness,” and the sausage was “too fatty for my taste.”
Brad’s scores – Brisket: 8.87; Pork ribs: 9.35; Sausage: 8.6; Overall experience: 9
Linda’s scores – Brisket: 9.25; Pork ribs: 10; Prime rib: 9; Sausage: 9.75; Service: 9.5; Atmosphere: 9.25; Ambiance: 9.5; Overall experience: 9.75
Ted’s scores – Brisket: 9; Pork ribs: 10; Prime rib: 9.5; Sausage: 8.5; Service: 9; Atmosphere: 9.5; Ambiance: 9.5; Overall experience: 9.75
