U.S. Army All-American Bowl Welcome BBQ (Alamodome)

Brad and I had the pleasure of attending last night's Welcome BBQ for this Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio (for which we will return to San Antone on Saturday). The players, their families, coaches, cheerleaders, band members & coaches, and members of the public were fed en masse by Rudy's "Country Store" & Bar-B-Q. Generous helpings of brisket, turkey, sausage, chicken, beans, potato salad, and creamed corn. There was live music during the dinner, which was followed by a short program. It was great to see so many men and women in uniform. Here are the first pics. Plenty more to come.

I've got to tell, as live time resident of Kansas City, I thougt I knew briket ande ribs....but the absolute bet brisket I have ever tasted is RUDY'S MOIST / BLACKENED brisket. I was introduced to Rudy's by my son-in-law, a true Texan from Midland, now living in Austin.
