At the American Royal BBQ competition last month in Kansas City, Brad & I had the honor of being 2 of the 3 judges for the finals of the Gnarly Head Rippin' Ribs Tour. The competition's 5 regional winners convened at the American Royal to battle it out for the championship. Tal Goldsby (Memphis, TN) took top prize with his "Adam & Elvis Ribs." I found out after the contest that, had I gone with my original post-high-school plan and played football at Rhodes College, Tal & I would've been teammates. I also found out that Tal is a die-hard Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Naturally, we met up for dinner later that night at Tomfooleries to watch the Tide donkey stomp the Gators.
