Sauce or no sauce?

Yesterday, our friend Megan over at Zagat Austin posted a piece with some local opinions on whether BBQ sauce is necessary for good BBQ. I weighed in with my thoughts. What are yours?

Shouldn't be necessary, but it should be very complementary to the smoked meats.
