Todd and John hit up Billy’s Pit BBQ in Bastrop, a first for Man Up. Todd emailed me his comments and their scores:
“John and I were driving through Bastrop back in December and decided to hit up some BBQ after a nice round of golf (Pine Forest Golf Club). We stopped in at a little place called Billy's Pit BBQ and were in for a treat. This place is a little gem on the side of the road, great atmosphere and darn good BBQ. I think they had sides, but we stuck to the staples, brisket & ribs. This place looked like it was a favorite place of the locals by the amount of traffic that came in and the photos on the wall. I'm not sure how old this place is, but it definitely has some history and experienced pits. I would certainly stop here again.”
Todd's scores – Brisket: 9.44; Pork ribs: 9.49; Sweet tea: 9.52; Atmosphere: 9.65; Service: 9.3; Overall experience: 9.5
John's scores – Brisket: 9.5; Pork ribs: 9.4; Atmosphere: 9.3; Service: 9.2; Overall experience: 9.3
Overall Man-Up Score: 9.4
