QOTD: What Texas BBQ joint was your most pleasant surprise?
I don't know about you, but I go into pretty much any BBQ joint with low expectations. That way, if it's even okay, I'm not really disappointed. But, regardless of your expectations, some places go way above and beyond. So, whether it's a place you thought would be good but was actually fantastic or a place you thought would be bad but was good, what Texas BBQ joint most exceeded your expectations?

Some friends and I ate at Fargo's BBQ in Bryan on Saturday. Everything we ate was amazing. They have their meats on display in a glass case like a bakery.
Brisket and ribs were top notch. I bought a whole rack to take home.
Twitter reply: "City Market in Luling...thought Black's, Smitty's, or Kreuz would be better. Not the case."
Jim: You're the 2nd person to mention Fargo's to me during the past week. It's on my to-eat list.
Twitter reply: "Inman's in Llano."
Twitter reply: "All of them in Lockhart Texas. Has to be the BBQ capitol of Texas; and they battle it out daily."
Twitter reply: "Live Oak BBQ in East Austin is the best I've had yet. Has exceeded expectations multiple times!"
Twitter reply: "City Meat Market in Giddings. Phenomenal."
Twitter reply: "Gaitlin BBQ in Houston, best in the city"
Twitter reply: "North Main BBQ in Euless, because it's so hard to find killer 'cue in Dallas/Ft Worth"
Live Oak BBQ on E 2nd in Austin. Brisket was decent, but the sausage and pork steak were both pretty good, especially for 8pm. Haven't been to try, but I like that they mix it up on Saturdays with some cabrito, jerk chicken, etc.
Watery vinegar sauce was not good though.
Went to Sam's last week for the first time in years. The brisket was top tier, as were the spare ribs. Beans lame, potato salad good(!), atmosphere-real bbq. No line.
Franklins, franklins, franklins, franklins! After hearing that it'd be a two hour wait before even ordering, I was completely dismayed. But with coaxing I was there at 10am on a Sunday morning. TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT. THE BBQ GODS ARE GIVING.
Coopers Old Time BBQ in New Bransfels. I didn't expect much of it, but it's in my top 3 best.
