"BBQ Bowl" recap

Well, we had a great time a couple of Friday nights ago at the 1st annual "BBQ Bowl" in Elgin. Before the Elgin Wildcats and Lockhart Lions met on the gridiron, it was brisket and sausage all around, with tickets getting you samples from Southside Market, Meyer's, Kreuz, Smitty's, Black's, and Chisholm Trail. An estimated 400 fans took part in the festivities.

Todd, Bo, Brad, Russell, and I passed out Man-Up koozies, cards, and stickers; and Russell and I did a short radio interview with KTAE. We thoroughly enjoyed having our table between Black's Barbecue (to whom we presented our Best Service of 2008 award) and Republic of Barbecue and are already looking forward to next year's BBQ Bowl in Lockhart. Kudos to the Elgin and Lockhart Chambers of Commerce for a successful inaugural event. Two rounds of pics on the way. In case you're wondering, Elgin won the game 32-8.
