At least five of these joints don't even belong on a "Top 100" list. Sonny Bryan's hasn't been good in years, and Iron Works has never been great.

I would listen to this guy, folks. He's been to more Texas BBQ joints than anyone I know.

The real injustice is leaving off two of my favorite places, Mann's and the Old Coupland Inn and Dance Hall. Any list of "top" bbq places without these two joints is automatically arbitrary.

That's gotta be Boseph.

Railhead?!! That place defines "average." Blacks in Lockhart is soooo much better. Even in Fort Worth, Railhead is not that great -- Cousins and Angelo's are better. Kind of feels like the list felt the need to have a couple of metroplex places. Plus, no City Market in Luling?! Okay, I have wasted enough brain cells on this list.

Well, it seems we're all in agreement that this list leaves something to be desired. Accuracy, perhaps.

I'm forced to agree with some of the other commenters. Sonny Bryans isnt even the best place in Dallas. In fact, it's not even in the top 5 in Dallas. Ive also had the railhead and it's pretty forgettable.

I'd put the place in Elgin way above S. B.

On the other hand, Kreuz and Muellers are good choices, but they're almost no brainers.
