Email from Todd:
Last week I attended the Texas Hill Country Wine & Food Festival media launch party to celebrate and kick-off the 26th year of the festival. The 2011 festival will run from March 31 to April 3 at different venues around Austin, click here for a full listing of the 2011 schedule of events. Tickets are now on sale at texaswineandfood.org.
One of the key new additions this year is a new special beef event! The “Live Fire! Beef Supremacy Over Flames” event will be held on April 1 at the Texas Disposal Systems Exotic Game Ranch just south of Austin. Bringing together some of the foremost beef experts; this will surely be a must-see (and eat) event for BBQ lovers everywhere. Need another reason to attend? One of our close friends of the blog, Aaron Franklin of Franklin BBQ, will be taking part in this event, trust me…you will want to be there!
Lastly, I’ll leave you with a couple of photos from the media party. The festival put together a great launch party, complete with cooking demonstrations and plenty of great samples to try.

Looks like a great time was had by all!
A little off-topic, but when Austin is referred to as "the Hill Country" it really gets under the skin of those of us that actually live in the Hill County. Sorry for the vent.
